Who I am

Trust a mountain expert

I am Roberto Boniotti and I was born in 1961.

I live in Teglie, a very small village in the Sabbia Valley at 650 m above sea level, not far from Lake Garda, where I chose to live to be close to the mountains that I love so passionately, in one of the most beautiful corners of Italy for me.

I don't know how my great passion for the mountains was born but I believe it was passed on to me since I was a child by my parents with whom I frequented the woods and mountains to which they were very attached.

I had a flash of inspiration in Valtellina, while we were looking for mushrooms with them, when, looking up, I saw a succession of snow-capped pyramids calling me to them.

Growing up, I began to visit the mountains of Alta Val Trompia and Val Camonica with a friend, as far as our limited economic means allowed us. Peak after peak, valley after valley, the horizons expanded until I gradually got to know the entire Alpine arc and then the mountains of the American continent.

As a sales manager for various companies in northern Italy, I have had the opportunity to travel to all continents and meet the most diverse people with their own customs, habits and sensibilities.

I have shared my passion for the mountains with many people for years, especially within the Italian Alpine Club, and obtained the title of National Ski Mountaineering Instructor, directing the School of Mountaineering, Ski Mountaineering and Free Climbing "Adamello" in Brescia for 5 years. This has allowed me to share this passion for mountaineering with many companions and to instruct many students, young and old, in the responsible frequentation of the mountains.

In recent years, having seized the opportunity to carry out my professional activity on my own and being able to manage my time more freely, I have undertaken the exciting path of Medium Mountain Guide with the College of Guides of the Lombardy Region, obtaining the title.

There are various ways to follow a route in the mountains or in environments immersed in nature: by following them and perhaps taking home lots of photographs, or by experiencing them with the awareness of what is around us and what our body tells us, admiring the beauty of nature and discovering some of its secrets: only in this way can a route bring us true knowledge of the environment and our emotions.

If this is what you are looking for, I will be happy to accompany you in this magnificent discovery.
